Parking Lot Recycling Events

On Sunday, October 5 the library will have two collection events from 2-4 pm. A Nursery Pot Recycling and a FreeGeek Computer Recycling event.

Teen Read Week Oct 12-18

In honor of Teen Read Week and its theme, “Books With Bite,” the library will have a drawing on October 18 for the movie poster of the upcoming Twilight movie, as well as the movie poster for the Iron Man movie. To enter the contest for these posters, visit the young adult section at Cedar Mill or Bethany and fill out an entry form. Check out a “Book with Bite” while your at it!

readingEarly Literacy Parent Workshops

Early Literacy workshops for parents of children 0-5 years focus on introducing parents to the six early literacy skills that research points to as essential for children to master before they learn to read. Workshops are for adults only. No registration required. Held at CMCL.

For parents of kids up to 2 years: Wednesday, 10/15, 6:30-8:30pm; Two-three-years: Wednesday, 10/22, 6:30-8:30pm; Four-five years: Tuesday, 10/28, 6:30-8:30pm.

Author Molly Gloss to welcome Book Club Kits

To kick off the library’s new book club kits collection, award-winning author Molly Gloss will be at CMCL on Friday, 10/24, 6:30 pm for a reading and discussion of her book “The Hearts of Horses”. Don’t miss this exciting event, and look for our “The Hearts of Horses” book club kit in October. Visit cmclbookclub.wordpress.com for more info on the kits. Collection started with grant funds from the Washington County Arts, Heritage and Humanities Coalition and the Oregon Cultural Trust.
