CMBA Members Connect

Last month, members of the Cedar Mill Business Association got together to connect at Cedar Mill’s newly established Schmizza Pub and Grub on Cornell Rd. Hosts Jean and Rick Brogan provided the perfect space for food and good conversation. Business owners along with their employees enjoyed a buffet of pizza, breadsticks and salad. M

embers were treated to several tastings from Pelican Brewery and five lucky attendees won prizes from Pelican.

The evening was considered a success by those in attendance. One guest said, “It’s great to meet people who work and have businesses in Cedar Mill. Those relationships are important to me.”  Many business cards were exchanged and acquaintances made. The CMBA will hold more of these mixers to connect our Cedar Mill business community with each other.

Join the CMBA so that you too can connect and get to know those who serve our community and do business in Cedar Mill. You can join now for $125, which will take you through to December 2015. Move It Yourselfers

Moving can be stressful, not to mention back-breaking. Whether Grandma has left you her baby grand piano or Uncle Eddie has bequeathed you his trophy-winning marlin, you need to figure out how to transport them safely. A survey commissioned by The UPS Store revealed that of the items Americans would least like to move, a piano topped the list, with 52% of respondents not wanting to move one alone; electronics followed with 38 percent stating it was too difficult; and one-third of Americans (33%) would be hesitant to move antiques or heirloom furniture without the help of experts.

For move-it-yourselfers, utilizing the freight services at the Peterkort UPS Store can be a reliable alternative to standard movers. Their packing experts can help you move those larger-than-life items without breaking a sweat, let alone your back.

The UPS freight services are a great option for the move-it-yourselfer who needs to ship a large or heavy item, but wants to entrust packing and handling to a trained professional. Their trained staff will not only pack it properly but also arrange to have it delivered right to the customer’s front door. Additionally, The UPS Store carries a variety of moving supplies, such as small, medium and large boxes, dish pack and wardrobe boxes, tape, bubble pack and foam packaging peanuts.

In addition to custom crating and shipping for large items, and packaging supplies, The UPS Store offers domestic and international shipping; full-service packaging; digital printing and online printing; black-and-white and color copies; document finishing (binding, laminating, etc.); printing services (business cards, letterhead, rubber stamps, etc.); notary; mailbox and postal services; and more.
