Milltowner update
Demolition of the old center will begin in early December. The first activity will be asbestos removal. The Laundromat will be moving to the space currently occupied by the dry cleaner in the Bales complex. Brian Bones, Laundromat owner, says, “We take possession of the space in January, and we’re going to install all-new equipment. We’re planning to open for business in March.” Access to the library will be maintained, although there may be changes in the access patterns. The Cedar Mill News office has moved to my home. I’d still love to find a little office space in town, though. The panels and other display furniture from the Cedar Mill History Museum are being stored temporarily in a space provided by the Cedar Mill Bible Church. We’re hoping to find a new location next year. We’ll keep you updated with demolition and construction activity that will affect traffic. Completion of the new shopping center is anticipated for late summer or fall 2019. |
