In this four-week course, children, ages 7-11, explore their creative potential in a fun, playful and safe environment to learn various art techniques and create fun craft projects, which will be taken home to share with family and loved ones. The class will focus on the process rather than the product. This allows students of varying skill levels the opportunity to explore their creativity in a low-pressure environment. We will help develop their artistic ability on how to create forms of art by making new things out of old things. Your child will explore a variety of art mediums depending upon the reuse/repurposing supplies available. Our goal is to encourage each student to utilize the creative reuse (upcycling/repurposing) method and create useful and beautiful items from materials that would otherwise be discarded. Our hope is for the students to share this process with their friends and family. Experimental Watercolor Workshop
Wednesday, April 15, 1-4 pm. Bring more play and imagination into your watercolors! This one-day workshop, taught by Debbie Teeter, is appropriate for beginners on up. I have been painting since high school, explored watercolors in college and am always up for a new twist. The techniques we will explore can be used in both representational and non-representational work, and will utilize an eclectic array of “toys.” We will not be creating a painting in class but developing a bank of possibilities which you can then apply to your studio practice. Plan to be loose and have fun! Check website for supply list and more details.
