Improving our Parks

The Parks Advisory Committee is seeking new members. The best way to ensure our parks meet everyone’s needs is for you to get involved. Participation takes only a few hours each month. We are looking for new ideas and a passion for our parks!

The Parks Advisory Committee offers a citizens perspective, providing advice and recommendations to support parks that are fun to visit, safe, secure and healthy. The committee reviews and offers suggestions on plans for new and upgraded parks. We look for ways to add enhancements to existing parks.

Our committee is staffed by Mike Janin, Superintendent of Security Operations, and Dave Chrisman, Superintendent of Maintenance. At each meeting they offer updates about the state of parks and their programs.

Our past efforts have included partnering with the Beaverton Arts Commission on installation of artwork in parks; a study on the use of tobacco in the parks; and continued work to provide informational sign installations at select parks.

The committee meets monthly on the second Tuesday at 6:15 at the Fanno Creek Service Center, 6220 SW 112th Ave, Beaverton.
