minorbComment on Minor Betterments projects

Cedar Mill has already benefitted from a couple of projects funded through the Minor Betterments process: the sidewalk along the east side of 143rd, and the interim pedestrian improvements on the south side of Cornell east of Saltzman.

Now Washington County's Minor Betterment Program Selection Committee invites the public to review and comment on the top candidates being considered for funding in fiscal year 2013-2014. Several of them are in our area, including a proposed pedestrian path from Bonny Slope Elementary to Ironwood on McDaniel.

The committee applied evaluation criteria to over one hundred candidates to identify the top small-scale interim road improvements that address safety and/or connectivity issues.

Comments submitted by October 22 will be considered by the committee, which will review them and then recommend projects to the Board of Commissioners for potential construction in 2013-2014.
