Paula Surmann's "Eco-minis" will be available at Leedy's bazaar |
An amazing variety of art, craft, food slothing, and personal items will fill Leedy Grange Hall on Thanksgiving weekend. Friday afternoon hours are 3-8 pm. Saturday the doors open from 9 am to 4 pm; Sunday 11 am to 4 pm. Escape from the mall to find one-of-a-kind gifts and goodies to please everyone on your gift list, and feel good about supporting local artists and entrepreneurs, while also raising money for your local community center, the Grange Hall. Leedy Grange is located at 835 NW Saltzman, the tan building with the mural on the front! Plenty of free parking in the adjacent lot.
Why shop at a department store for your holiday gifts? Rather, take time to experience "alternative" holiday shopping at the annual Oregon College of Art and Craft (OCAC) Student and Alumni Holiday Sale. Avoid the chaos of the mall by choosing to support the local artists in your community. Beautifully designed and crafted ceramic pieces, jewelry, hand woven items, ornaments, greeting cards, and photographs made by students and alumni will be available for purchase. All proceeds from the sale benefit the individual students and the College's scholarship fund.
Enjoy holiday treats, warm beverages and a festive atmosphere as you take advantage of a special pre-event in the OCAC Retail Craft Gallery (Friday, Nov. 25, 5-7pm). All guests receive 10% off their total Craft Gallery purchase and a raffle ticket for the chance to win a certificate for a Hands On Café Sunday Brunch, an original piece of artwork, or free tuition to a weekend workshop. If you are already a member of OCAC you will receive an additional 10% at the Friday pre-sale event. Admission is $3.00 for the Friday event only, and is free to the public on Saturday (Nov. 26, 10 am-6 pm) and Sunday (Nov. 27, 10 am-4 pm).
The weekend sale takes place in the gallery on the OCAC campus, located at 8245 SW Barnes Road in Portland. Please call 503.297.5544 for more information or visit www.ocac.edu.
Friday and Saturday, December 2 and 3 from 10 am to 5 pm at the Oak Hills Rec Center. A wide variety of unique, hand-made items will be available for your holiday shopping to give as gifts or to deck out your home for the holidays.
