CMBA Meeting NotesThe January meeting of the Cedar Mill Business Association was very well attended, with nearly 40 members and guests on hand to eat pizza and get an update on the organization and on 2010 tax information. There was a communications mixup and two sets of pizza arrived, but the hungry crowd managed to handle it all. CMBA Member Brian Justrom, of Justrom & Associates, P.C., gave a rundown of "Bush-era tax cut extension and other stimulus measures." In addition to a handout explaining all the important changes to business and personal taxes, he provided a Form 8941 and instructions for the new Credit For Small Employer Health Insurance Premiums. Ten Minutes of Fame was enjoyed by Tutor Doctor, a Beaverton firm that specializes in in-home homework assistance. They are careful to match their tutors to the student's needs. Sandy Sahagian Portraiture will get her Ten Minutes at the February meeting. Tim Kober, CMBA Secretary, will present the program at the February 8 meeting on the newly redesigned CMBA website and also on ways that businesses can use the free offerings of Google Maps. Also, the Domestic Violence Resource Center will have their lovely scented soaps and lotions for sale, just in time for Valentines' Day gifts. The CMBA meets on the second Tuesday of every month at Leedy Grange Hall, 835 NW Saltzman, from 11:45 am-1 pm. Meetings are free and open to anyone interested in business in Cedar Mill. And if you haven't already, it's time to renew your membership for 2011. See cedarmillbiz.com for information and a form, or a link to the online payment option.
