Inside the JQA Young HouseTualatin Hills Park and Recreation District (THPRD), which owns the historic John Quincy Adams Young House in Cedar Mill, has hired local architect Brian Jackson to produce detailed drawings of the house. These will be used as part of the documentation needed to apply for grants to fund the restoration of the house. Jackson will work with a structural engineer to determine the best plan to rebuild the foundation of the house, and possibly to move it back on its lot. It currently sits close to the edge of the county's right-of-way on Cornell, and if the road is ever widened, the roadway would come nearly to the door. NEWS HOME |
