Cedar Mill Farmers' Market opens May 7We'll start the season with our wonderful cut-flower family (Vanessa, Thao, Sylvia, Kathleen, and Natalie) providing their incomparable bouquets for Mother's Day and more. Joining them will be our loyal, hardy artisan vendors including those specializing in fused glass, jewelry, miscellaneous wood-crafting, and lovely handiwork in quilting, knitting, and more. Great Harvest Bread and other locals are planning to share their fabulous local goods with us again in 2011. Burnt Ends BBQ plans to be our vendor of delicious beef brisket, pulled pork, and more, almost every weekend in the 2011 season. Of course the Cedar Mill Farmers' Market farmers are working hard to bring us vegetables and fruits in just a few short weeks. We're all keeping our fingers crossed for more cooperative spring weather than we had last year! We've got lots of great music scheduled for this year, including our much-requested Carley Baer, Lauren Sheehan, and Greg Clarke in May. The market's hours are the same as in previous seasons, opening at 8 and closing at 1. Hope all our Cedar Mill friends put the market on their calendars for our May 7 Opening Day! We are thrilled to be enjoying another season of hospitality at the Sunset Mall, and are very appreciative of the support of the merchants who host us there. If people let the merchants know that they are aware of and also appreciate their support, I think it goes a long way in securing the market's use of the space there. The market is actively seeking on-site volunteers to keep us going this year, so call if you have any time— from one Saturday to twenty-six Saturdays—to share with your community market. Set-up and take-down helpers are much appreciated, as are more light-duty "Info Booth" volunteers who help out during the day. The Cedar Mill Farmers' Market is sponsored by the Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District.
