Help Multnomah County plan the next 20 years of road improvements

Tuesday, April 10, 6:30-8:30 pm, Skyline Elementary School, 11536 NW Skyline Blvd., Portland

Every few years, Multnomah County updates a 20-year plan of roads to improve. Crosswalks and signals, guardrails, wider shoulders, turn lanes, bicycle and walking paths, and more—our voice can shape what’s built five, 10 and 20 years from now.

Washington County residents who use Multnomah County roads are welcome to attend and share their comments, according to Mike Pullen, Multnomah County Communications Office.

The online open house is open now. Share what’s important to you as the County considers future road improvements: Visit the online open house between now and April 15.

You can also tell us what you think at a public open house meeting. Drop-in anytime between 6:30-8:30 p.m. to learn about the Roads Capital Improvement Plan and provide your input.

The Roads Capital Improvement Plan is about improving roads with added features such as guardrails or wider shoulders. Maintaining roads, such as filling potholes, has a separate plan and separate funding.

Projects included in the RCIP could include:

  • Widening roads for more lanes (lanes to travel in, or turn lanes)
  • Widening shoulders for people walking and biking
  • Adding signals or other projects to make intersections easier and safer
  • Guardrails
  • Multi-use paths
  • Culvert replacements
  • Bridge improvements
