Old Time Fiddlers, Pie and Ice Cream!
Many Grange Halls hold Open House events during "Grange Month" in April. But Leedy just has to be different! Besides, we were occupied with our very successful Spring Fair.
Grange Secretary Theresa Thorud has partnered with The Beaverton Historical Society to organize our Open House for Saturday, May 19, 11 am to 1 pm at the Leedy Grange Hall located east of Bales Thriftway in Cedar Mill. Admission is free.
At 11:30, Champ Vaughan will give a presentation about the early pioneer settlement and the history of local place names of the Beaverton area. Champ is a historical geographer, board member of Oregon Geographic Names, past president of the Sons and Daughters of Oregon Pioneers, and a former resident of the Beaverton area.
Then enjoy pie and ice cream to the music of the Old Time Fiddlers who will play from 1-3 pm. There will be frequent drawings for door prizes, but you must be present to win.
