Cedar Mill Farmers Market opens for the season

Saturdays, May 4-Oct 12, 9 am-2 pm, SE corner of Safeway parking lot at Murray and Cornell

We love being this community’s farmers market and we are bringing lots of good things to you every Saturday through October 12. Not only do we have local farmers bringing their fresh, local produce to you each week, we have fresh eggs (chicken, duck and goose), meats, oils, sauces, coffee, bakery items, sweet treats and savory snacks too.

Don’t forget the hanging floral baskets, cut flowers and plants. We have some local artists and crafters too—come check out the beautiful tablecloths, aprons and other sewn items, soaps, bath bombs, lotions, jewelry—all hand made.

We are excited to offer several hot food offerings this season (eat at the market or take home)

  • La Popular—Authentic Mexican Food, featuring their awesome Tamales
  • Scott Raegen’s Kitchen—savory hand pies styled after a Cornish Pasty
  • H and H BBQ—Texas Old Fashioned BBQ and southern side dishes
  • Happa Pizza—Asian-Inspired Neapolitan Style Pizzas
  • Lobos Street Food—Mexican Tortas (Sandwiches)

A big thank you to our community and friends for supporting us in our recent GoFundMe fundraiser. After the sale of the Sunset Mall last December, the new owners required a new contract (which was expected) and a site fee increase, which was also expected. We didn’t find out until less than a month before market would open that the fee increase would be 10 times what we had been paying before! (Kimco Reality had been very generous to us). We budgeted for an increase but not THAT BIG of one.

Thanks to all who helped out. Whether you donated or helped us get the word out fast. We made our goal! We so appreciate your support and your generosity. Everything is good. We were able to pay the fee this week without it causing a negative impact on the market, our Kids Program or our SNAP Match Program. We so appreciate Safeway’s Manager, Rick Edmunds for being a strong proponent of the market. We are very grateful for all of you!

Want to know who will be at the market each Saturday? Email us and ask to be put on our weekly newsletter list. You will then be “up-to-date” on all the market happenings. Are you looking for a place to volunteer? Join our volunteer team! We have several shifts available. Email us and ask about volunteering at ourcmfm@gmail.com.

See you on Saturdays!!!
