Jason of Baird's Orchards has peaches peaches peaches!
Ten years of local goodness!

The Cedar Mill Farmers’ Market has been around since 1999 and we’re celebrating with a 10th anniversary party on Saturday, August 15. Be sure to come on over, have a piece of anniversary cake, and enter to win one of the fabulous prizes, including a gift certificate for use at the Farmers’ Market, a new Cedar Mill Farmers’ Market t-shirt, as well as goodies from individual market vendors and other community merchants. The fun starts when the market opens at 8 am and continues until closing at 1 pm. Music from 9:30 – 1 is by one of the market’s most-requested performers, guitarist/vocalist Jill Trenholm.

The market started with just a handful of vendors in 1999 in the parking lot of the Cedar Mill Community Library. After a couple of years, when the library was undergoing major construction, the Safeway store at Murray & Cornell welcomed the market to its parking lot along Cornell Road. As the market grew, the Sunset Mall west of Safeway offered a larger venue and the market has been hosted just west of Bandito Taco & Bobalicious Tea ever since.

kathleenA few years ago when the Cedar Mill community faced the disappearance of its farmers’ market, Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District stepped in to offer its sponsorship to continue the Cedar Mill Farmers’ Market’s spring/summer/fall tradition in Cedar Mill.

The market has gotten better every year, this year offering a wonderful variety of new vendors along with our tried-and-true favorites including 10+ traditional farmers/growers (some using organic practices), 3-4 certified organic farmers, a local dairy vendor selling cheese, milk, pudding, and other outstanding fresh dairy products, local fresh cheesecake, local organic beef, local farm-fresh eggs, locally-roasted fair-trade organic coffee, on-site fresh-roasted nuts, on-site fresh-popped kettle corn, locally made pepper jellies & jams, fresh salsa, and so much more. If you haven’t been to the market lately, you don’t know what you’re missing! Hope to see you at the Cedar Mill Farmers’ Market’s 10th Anniversary on August 15!
