Listen to these Stories!

The final interviews from the library’s 2009 Oral History project have been posted on the web at tinyurl.com/l82xn3. There are 14 very moving personal stories about dislocation, cruelty, hope and perseverance in the face of both enormous trials and individual difficulties. Give them a listen. In the fall the stories will be collected on a disc that you can check out.

The library is now collecting names of immigrants who might like to have their stories recorded for the project next year. Of particularly interest are stories from Latinos. Please contact Lynne at 503-644-0043 ext. 132.

Film Club

The Trap will be shown on Wednesday, August 26 at 6:30 pm, FREE. Adults aged 18 and over are invited to view this film and enjoy a lively discussion after the showing.

Owl Book Group

The book selection is Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortensen. The next meeting will be on Friday, August 29 at 10:30 am. Newcomers always welcome!
