Miller Paint

Manager Mike Appel of the Murray Road Miller Paint store wants CMBA members to know that they have set up a special account for us. All a member has to do is tell the associate at the counter that they are a CMBA member to receive the special discount, which will vary between 7-22 percent depending on the margin of the paint or items in question.

Appel says, "We are excited to be a part of the association and to extend this offering to our fellow Portland-based businesses." Miller Paint is a full-line coatings company. They opened on Front Ave in Portland in 1890 and have been serving the northwest ever since. The CMBA pricing is available at any Miller paint store, though the crew here hope to see everyone at the location here on Murray just north of Cornell.

Chickadee Montessori LLC

This new school is just starting up in Cedar Mill! It's a certified, home-based Montessori program, one which will provide a joyful learning environment, a beautiful home setting on Leahy, and a holistic approach to early education.

The parent community is already hard at work creating a natural playscape for the children in the expansive forested back yard.

Chickadee is the culmination of a long career for its owner and operator, Jude Foster. Jude just retired from her 16-year position as founder and Head of School at Harmony Montessori School in east Portland. She is well-known in the Portland Montessori community, and received the Oregon Montessori Association's "Outstanding Dedication" award in 2007. She moved to the Cedar Mill area three years ago, so ended her years at Harmony with a long commute. Now she is continuing her work with children right here at home.

Chickadee is a much-needed addition to our area—a nurturing, nature-focused, and rich Montessori education for children ages 2 1/2 to 6, for parents who need both part- and full-day care.
