Second Edition to feature Designer JewelryMonday, September 14, starting at noon; 12505 NW Cornell Road Thanks to a generous donor, Second Edition has a collection of wonderful jewelry, most of it created by San Francisco artist, Marjorie Baer. Baer has been designing jewelry for over 30 years and has many fans who like her unique look. Described as modern, sculptural, comfortable and wearable, Baer’s pieces feature mixed metals in an organic design. Second Edition is hosting a “ Trunk Show” of these necklaces and earrings as well as pieces by other designers with a similar style.

New office building going upConstruction is underway on the new headquarters for Westwood Homes LLC, in the “triangle center” attached to and behind the existing Peninsula Insurance building near the corner of Cornell and Old Barnes Road. Westwood Homes will occupy the top floor. The bottom floor will be the new location for Hoffman Academy of Music. They hope to move in early next year.

Safeway offers Fresh CutsNew Safeway employee Rodney Rogers shared his enthusiasm for their new program. “We are a flagship location providing numerous unique items. I was hired as part of the opening crew in July, and we are cutting hundreds of Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Honeydew, Pineapple, and Strawberries daily. The popularity with customers has been amazing. The store created a Fresh Cut room, where employees work in 50° temperature to ensure freshness and cleanliness.
