CMBA Meeting NotesNew Member Special: Terry Taylor and the Sunset Science Park Community Credit Union are offering a fantastic deal for anyone who’s been thinking about joining the Business Association – join now (membership through December 30) for only $30 and attend Taylor’s Marketing Workshop for free! Details here. Over 35 people attended the September 9 meeting of the Cedar Mill Business Association. Lauren McCabe, DC, presented information on Workplace Safety, giving us tips on setting up and maintaining a safe workplace, and good suggestions on how to handle mishaps. The Membership Committee continues to be active in recruiting new members. We currently have more than 70 businesses that have joined in 2008. Thanks, members, it is gratifying to know that so many businesses want to help us make our community a better place to work, live and shop. Michelle Stafford, D.D.S., introduced herself and her Pediatric Dentistry business, World of Smiles, to the group during her “10 Minutes of Fame.” Sandy Sahagian Portraiture will be next month’s speaker for that segment. The next meeting, October 14 at noon, will include updates on the two major road projects that are currently slated for Cedar Mill. Al Girard will talk about the Murray Blvd. project that is currently underway, and Matt Costigan will update us on the Saltzman project, which is still in the planning stages. Both are Project Managers with Washington County Land Use & Transportation. Come with any questions you have on either project. We’ll also be presenting a check to representatives of the Beaverton School District for the Sunset High School Birthday Club, a gift to students at Sunset who are homeless. As always, free pizza.
