Tilly’s opening soonCedar Mill will once again have a friendly place to meet and eat, now that Barbara and Paul Anctil have worked their magic on the space next to Walgreens. Tilly’s will offer 18 flavors of fresh gelato, a creamy frozen dessert that reminds you of ice cream but has less fat and more flavor. There will also be sorbetto, a dairy-free alternative, and fat and sugar-free versions. Flavors will vary with the season. They’ll also serve coffee and espresso drinks made with locally roasted Kobos coffee, and smoothies. Breakfast fare is an assortment of pastries, both sweet and savory, that are baked fresh on-site every morning. Drop in for lunch to find a variety of panini sandwiches and Harry’s soups — a local Portland company that provides delicious soups, many made from organic ingredients. They expect to be open by Monday, December 11, and their Grand Opening Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, December 16, featuring coupons and drawings for prizes including free gelato for a year. Store hours will be 8 am to 7 pm daily. Paul Anctil was the founder of Anctil Sheet Metal Co. which just celebrated it’s 30th anniversary and is now Anctil Heating & Cooling Co. It is owned by his son, Tom Anctil, since Paul’s retirement in 1993. He and his wife Barbara have brought back a selection of one-of-a-kind treasures from their travels that will be offered for sale in the shop, along with Torani flavor syrups and gelato to go. We can’t wait!
