Visit The UPS Store web site for Holiday Coupons at www.theupsstore.com/3379.htm Support the library, clear out that stuff! Many people find this a good time to clear unwanted items from their homes in preparation for the New Year. Consider donating these items to the Second Edition Resale Shop. Second Edition is the major ongoing fundraiser for the Cedar Mill Community Library Association, a tax-exempt corporation dedicated to providing free public library services. Sales of donated art, jewelry, antiques, and gently-used or like-new furniture, household items, and clothing netted over $143,000 for the library in 2007. The funds raised are used for books and media, storytimes, helpful librarians to answer your questions, computer classes for seniors and much more! Donation receipts are available for tax purposes. Your donation is tax-deductible to the full extent provided by the law. Volunteers play a vital role at Second Edition by accepting, sorting, appraising, and selling donated merchandise. The shop runs on a skeleton crew on the weekends so they are unable to accept donations due to a lack of storage space. Therefore, please bring your donations on weekdays during open business hours. Also, please do not leave items outside, as these can become damp, damaged, or stolen. Second Edition is powered by more than 80 volunteers, and is always looking for more, especially during the holidays. These volunteers range from teenagers to octogenarians. They are dedicated to making the shop a success and are passionate about supporting the library. Please call 503-644-6395 or visit www.cedarmill.org/library for Second Edition donation guidelines, volunteer positions available, and information on sales and events. And if you have not been in the shop, stop by today and see the attractive displays, and the quality merchandise available. Thank you for supporting your community library! Second Edition Resale is located at 12505 NW Cornell Rd. (on the hill above and behind Walgreens. Enter through the driveway on Saltzman. The shop is at the east end of the library.) Open Monday 12-6, Tuesday 10-7:30; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10-6; Saturday 10-4:30, Sunday 12-4:30.
