Town Center road construction nearing completion
The long-awaited end of the Cornell/Barnes road improvement project is in sight! Washington County Project Manager Alex Sander says, “the contractor, Robinson Construction of Hillsboro, and his sub-contractors are completing walls, sidewalks, landscaping, and irrigation work. Median islands will be constructed soon. The new traffic signals and streetlighting are installed, and have been activated on Cornell and will be activated soon on Barnes. “The contractor will construct a final lift of asphalt paving and final striping on Cornell and on Barnes in mid-March or as soon thereafter as possible, depending on the weather. Most of the construction work (aside from final paving) probably will be completed by mid-March. The construction contract provides for a May 1, 2006 completion date, which the contractor is expected to meet.”
