Library Receives Grant
The John and Betty Gray Early Childhood Initiative
of The Oregon Community Foundation recently awarded a $15,000 grant
for the second year of the library’s Every
Child Ready to Read Project. Year two will continue Baby Time, early literacy
trainings and storytimes through Youth Outreach, and take the parent early literacy
workshops outside the building through a community partnership.
Owl Book Club
The book selection is “Year of Magical Thinking” by
Joan Didion. The next meeting will be on Friday, 3/23 at 10:30 am.
Newcomers always welcome!
Film Club
“Carol’s Journey” will be shown on Wednesday, 3/28
at 6:30 pm, FREE. Film Club features are recommended for mature audiences. Adults
aged 18 and over are invited to view this film and enjoy a lively discussion
after the showing. Coffee and tea are provided.
Tea & Fashion Show
Fundraiser benefiting the library, organized by The Daughter’s
of the British Empire & held in the library’s upstairs meeting rooms.
Friday, 3/30 at 1 pm. Reservations only, limited seating. $20 donation per person.
Call Penny at 503-957-5379. The Tea & Fashion Show, with clothing from Second
Edition Resale, is a fun event to attend with a friend.

Second Edition Resale shop will be open earlier on Sundays, starting
3/11. Shop will open one hour earlier - from 12 noon to 4:30 pm.
Also, St. Patrick’s
Day is being celebrated at Second Edition with a percentage-off drawing on Friday & Saturday,
3/16 & 3/17. Pick a shamrock and you may get up to 60% off the regular price
of one clothing item. Second Edition is an ongoing fundraiser for the library.
