Hearing Voices: Storytelling Festival comes to Cedar Mill Community Libraryby Dawn Anderson On Sunday, April 1, 2-4 pm, Alton Chung will present a Family Storytelling Techniques workshop (pre-festival) at the library. Learn how to tell stories in a family setting – from family history to folk and fairy tales – to pass them along to future generations. Designed for ages 7 to adult. No registration required. (www.altonchung.com) Then on Monday, April 16 at 4 pm, Lawrence Howard & Lynne Duddy as StoryHarmonics will visit the library to enchant us with their stories. They are extraordinary narrative artists whose voices weave a tapestry of tales that delight the ear and lift the heart. Their infectious energy brings stories alive.
The Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS) is coordinating the third annual Hearing Voices Storytelling Festival April 14-22 in celebration of the 2007 National Library Week. Local storytellers will be performing at libraries all over Washington County. Programs are fun for all ages and admission is FREE.
