Mapping the West
Robert Hamm will present an Oregon Chautauqua program: Mapping the West:
Eighteenth- and Nineteenth-Century Cartography on Saturday, April 7 at 3
pm. He will trace the development of maps of the U.S. West, illustrating
how the political, social, and cultural contexts of the times influenced
the mapmakers’ art and science.
Robert has collected historic maps for nearly 20 years, and will
share his passion for historic cartography as well as examples from his collection
to illustrate his talk. This FREE program is funded by the Oregon Council
for the Humanities (OCH).
Publisher’s Daughter
Local author Teri Jensen-Brosh will speak at 7 pm on Thursday, April
19 about the remarkable experiences that led to her book, The
Publisher’s
Daughter. During more than 40 years of reporting and editing, Teri
has covered many fascinating stories, most of which have appeared
in newspapers throughout the state of Oregon. She has received over 70 national
and state awards for writing, photography, and design. Don’t miss this
evening of fun conversation and book signing.
Owl Book Club
The book selection is Daughter of Fortune by Isabel Allende.
The next meeting will be on Friday, April 27 at 10:30 am. Newcomers
always welcome!
Film Club
The Great Match will be shown on Wednesday, April 25 at 6:30
pm, FREE. Adults aged 18 and over are invited to view this film and
enjoy a lively discussion after the showing.

appliances and machines for our “Take It Apart” event. (We can not
