County Receives "Excellence in Paving" Award for NW Barnes / NW Cornell Project

The Pavement Association of Oregon presented the "Excellence in Paving" award to Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation at the association's annual conference March 6, 2007. The first place award for the NW Barnes Road / NW Cornell Road project was in the category of Urban Arterials.
This project included portions of NW Barnes Road (Saltzman to 119th) and NW Cornell Road (Murray to Saltzman) and is part of Washington County’s Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP 3). Construction occurred between 2004 and 2006.

David Evans and Associates designed the NW Barnes segment of the project, and County engineering staff designed the NW Cornell Road segment. Robinson Construction Company of Hillsboro was the prime contractor. Lakeside Industries was the paving subcontractor. County staff provided inspection services during construction.
