CMBA Meeting NotesHiring Great Employees, Saltzman Road Project, Survey ResultsBy Dawn Anderson During the May CMBA meeting, Roger Buskers of HR Source, an employee-leasing firm headquartered in Cedar Mill, presented information on hiring great employees. The best way to recruit is by word-of-mouth, online comes in second. The interview process is now very difficult; always conduct two interviews. Roger discussed a handout titled Interview Tips for the Interviewer. He recommends using a company that specializes in reference/background checks. For more information on employee leasing, call Roger at 503-4WEDOHR or visit wedohr.com We also heard from Matt Costigan, Engineering Project Manager, Washington County, on the Saltzman Road project. Saltzman Road will be widened to three lanes, have improved lighting, more sidewalks and bike lanes. The improvements will start at Cornell Road and go to Thompson Road. The first phase has funding from Cornell up to Bauer Woods Drive. Estimated timetable: In Fall, 2008 utilities will be placed and then construction will start in Spring, 2009 and will last for one year. There will be a public meeting in July. The Cedar Mill Park Community Concert will be on Thursday, August 9. If you are interested in having your business information at the CMBA table, contact Virginia at vrb@teamweb.com or call 503-629-5799. We will also need volunteer help setting up the park during the day of the concert. CMBA survey results supported moving the CMBA monthly meeting to the second Tuesday of the month. Congratulations to Becky Jarvis, Electronic Unlimited, winner of the $25 Bales gift certificate.
