Library News & EventsLibrary Summer Reading Program Summertime is library time in Cedar Mill. Parents know that encouraging kids to read over the summer leads to academic success during the school year. Summer Reading registration begins on Friday, June 1 at the Cedar Mill Community Library. The library is hosting a variety of programs including Detective School, Friday Frolics, Take it Apart day, and Friday Family Flicks. Enjoy movies based on children’s books every Friday from June 15 to August 10. has summer activities exclusively for 6-12th graders. Watch all four of the films related to JK Rowling’s popular books before the fifth film comes out on July 13. Comic Truths Oni Press Editor in Chief James Lucas Jones and Artist /Author Shawn Granton, Editor of the Zinester’s Guide to Portland, will discuss using reality in comics, what they are working on and what it’s like to be making comics and zines in Portland.
