Polygon partners with Bridgeport developer

We asked Fred Gast of Polygon Northwest about what is happening on the former Teufel Nursery property on Barnes Road. Here’s his response:

“The work being performed on site now is associated with the approval we already have in place. Specifically, we are grading the site and building the remainder of the road that connects Cornell to Barnes.

Polygon Northwest's development will include a commercial area on the land along Barnes Road. The Cedar Mill Wetland, foreground, is not part of the development. Timberland housing is being built on the hills above.

“The larger parcels being created this summer will be developed in the future, including the 27-acre commercial development As we have stated since the inception of the development, we are developing the commercial segment with the idea that we would retain the commercial property once it is completed. .

“We have selected a partner for the commercial portion of the development. Our partner is Bruce Wood of Foundation Real Estate. Bruce led the effort for Bridgeport Village in Tualatin. We are pleased that we were able to create a relationship with someone who has a great deal of experience and shares our vision for creating an amenity for Timberland and greater Cedar Mill.

“We expect that we will be conducting meetings as early as this summer to share ideas and present plans. Community participation has been and will continue to be very important to us. We recognize that the commercial development is important to not just Timberland, but the entire neighborhood as well.”

When Polygon began the process of planning for the Timberland development, they made several visits to CPO1 to share their vision and get community feedback, above and beyond what was required. We look forward to finding out more about this important addition to our commercial center, and will announce community meetings on this development as soon as information becomes available.
