International Games Day

For All Ages

Saturday, November 21, various times at Cedar Mill and Bethany libraries

Join in the fun! There will be something for every game-lover. You can design your own game to take home, become the pawn in a life-size game, play kids games from our collection, or learn longer games from experienced players. We’ll have board games to match a variety of interests and skill levels for all ages to enjoy. Library staff and volunteers will be on hand to teach many of our board games and answer questions about this exciting collection.

At Cedar Mill:

10 am-5 pm Board game free play (all ages)

11 am-1 pm Game design workshop (all ages)

1-4 pm Epic Games: learn longer (30-90 min) board games like Settlers of Catan, Pandemic, and more from experienced players (Recommended 10 & up)

2-4 pm Life-size games (teens only)

At Bethany:

5:30-7:30 pm Kid-friendly games and life-size Hoot Owl Hoot (all ages)

A Month Of Friday Evening Events!

Friday November 6, 6:30 pm.

Books & Soup: Author Maggie Stuckey talks about her book Soup Night: Recipes for Creating Community Around a Pot of Soup and offers samples of her favorite soups.

Friday, November 13, 6:30 pm.

Songwriters in the Round: Hosted by the ambassador of song, Steve Hale, join a trio of accomplished local song writers as they take turns playing original compositions and sharing the personal stories behind each piece.

Friday, November 20, 6:30 pm.

Polish Paper Crafts—Stars: Instructed by Daniela Mahoney, this class is designed for adults and comes just in time for creating lovely decorations for the holidays. Required registration opens Friday, October 30.

Make the Most of Your Stuff

Sunday, November 22, 2:30-3:30 pm, Community Room

Join Master Recyclers Lea Schrodt and Cecelia Warner at the Cedar Mill Library for a FREE workshop sponsored by the Master Recycler Program serving the Portland metro region, and the Washington County Solid Waste & Recycling Program.

Learn how to prevent wasted food with the Eat Smart, Waste Less Challenge. Learn strategies for the Four R’s – Reduce, Reuse, Repair, and Recycle. Get simple tips on how to prevent waste like a master and recycle like an expert, saving money in the process. Take home free tools and resources to get started now.

Light refreshments will be available.
