URMDAC recommends sidewalk improvements for SaltzmanThe Urban Road Maintenance District Advisory Committee (URMDAC) recommended seven Safety Projects at their October 21 meeting. If they are adopted by the Board of County Commissioners at a meeting in June 2016, they will be included in the 2016-17 Road Maintenance Program The only Cedar Mill area improvement included in the recommendation was a pathway along Saltzman Road from Hartford to 12962 NW Diamond Drive and from 3660 Saltzman to 12988 NW Creekview Drive. The project will fill gaps in existing sidewalks/pathways along Saltzman Road between Hartford and Creekview so pedestrians do not have to walk in the travel lane with vehicles or alongside the road in the grass and mud. If approved, about 375 feet of five-foot-wide paved pathway will be constructed. This will provide a continuous pedestrian walkway along the east side of Saltzman Road from Hartford to Thompson. The estimated cost is $135,000, assuming some drainage improvements may be required and adequate right-of-way exists.
