Middletown Opens at Sunset on November 5November 5-14, doors open 7 pm, curtain 7:30, Sunset High School, 13840 NW Cornell Road, in the “Black Box” theater In Middletown, Sunset's talented cast explores the playful, poignant portrait of a town with two lives, one ordinary and visible, the other epic and mysterious. Mary Swanson, who just moved to Middletown, is about to have her first child and is eager to enjoy the neighborly bonds a small town promises. But life in Middletown is complicated. Neighbors are near strangers and moments of connection are fleeting. The play, by award-winning playwright Will Eno, is directed by Sunset’s theater director, James Farmer, and presented by special arrangement with publisher Samuel French, Inc. Performances take place Thursday-Saturday, November 5, 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14. General admission tickets, $10 Adults; $8 Students and Seniors, can be purchased at the door or online at: seatyourself.biz/shstheatre.Seating is limited for these performances. Due to the adult nature of the content, parental guidance is recommended for children 13 and under. Celebrating 56 years of live theater production, Sunset High School produces a diverse selection of productions, from musicals such as popular classics like The Addams Family, Bye Bye Birdie and Damn Yankees to some of Shakespeare’s greatest works like Much Ado About Nothing, Hamlet and Macbeth. These productions push the boundaries of design, creativity and interpretation, enabling students to experiment with different styles, roles and historical eras.
