Sunset Credit Union works with Terra Linda Fourth Grade ForestersThis year, Arbor Day will be held on April 27. Founded in 1872 by J. Sterling Morton, Arbor Day encourages individuals and groups to plant and care for trees. In keeping with the spirit of Arbor Day, Sunset Credit Union will donate 75 Douglas fir trees to Terra Linda Grade School. The trees will be planted as part of the Fourth Grade Forester Project. "We've been in the community for more than 50 years," said Rhonda Baggarley, President of Sunset Credit Union, "and we're always looking for unique ways to give back to the people who live and work here. We implement a lot of green practices at our office and offer many 'green services' for our members. We felt that giving students these trees to plant supports our goal of helping the environment while educating them on the importance of caring for the planet." In addition to providing the trees, the credit union will also be collecting photos of the students to display in the Credit Union lobby. Sunset Credit Union is open to anyone who lives, works or attends school in Cedar Mill. They are located at 1100 NW Murray Blvd. You can learn more about them at www.sspfcu.com, or by calling 503-643-1335. Local Organizer Helps PDX ManagePortland City employees recently had the opportunity to learn about time management from local professional organizer Beth Giles of NW Organizing Solutions. The brown bag lunch workshop was held last month in The Portland Building auditorium and was sponsored by the city's DEEP group and City Mamas. Attendees did an exercise challenging the myth of 'saving time by multi-tasking.' A time map encouraged them to evaluate priorities. The workshop challenged attendees to control their time, directing it rather than allowing it to direct them. If you missed this great event but would like help to manage your time better contact Beth at 503-709-0791 or Beth@NWOrganizingSolutions.com.
