Dogwood Stoplight is a go!

County Engineer Greg Miller confirmed that the county has reached a preliminary agreement with Bales/Findley Property Management to install a stoplight and crosswalk at Dogwood and Saltzman, in conjunction with a realignment of the entrances to the Thriftway lot. The details of the deal have not been finalized at this time. Public support for the stoplight was cited as one of the factors in changing the county position on the light.

Historical Cedar Mill photos return for Grange breakfast

If you missed the collection of historical Cedar Mill photos that was exhibited at the June Shortcake Social, they will be exhibited again on Saturday, August 30 for a breakfast raising funds for the regional Grange organization, the Washington-Yamhill Pomona. Breakfast will be served from 7:30-11:30 am at Cedar Mill’s Leedy Grange, 835 NW Saltzman on the east end of the Bales lot.

Grange members will be serving a delicious breakfast of biscuits with sausage gravy or French Toast with sausage, plus coffee and orange juice. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for kids 12 and under.

The Washington-Yamhill Pomona coordinates activities among the dozens of “subordinate” or local Granges in the two counties, and participates in state-wide Grange activities. Leedy Grange, founded in 1903, is always seeking new members to help plan family activities and support our community.

Visit Cedar Mill's Leedy Grange website for more information about the Grange: leedygrange.org.

Sponsored by the non-profit Terra Linda Parent-Teacher Council, all funds raised at this event will go to the 2008-2009 Arts Enrichment Program for Kindergarten through 5th grade students at Terra Linda School. This year’s program goal is a residency by a visual artist who specializes in working with students, teachers, and parent volunteers to design, create and install beautiful and permanent mosaic murals in their schools.

Our newest school will be open for public tours on Wednesday, August 27 from 2-4 pm. Fifth grade "ambassadors" will show off their beautiful new facility.

The school’s parent participation organization, the Bonny Slope Community Organization (BSCO) has been meeting during the summer to get ready for the big opening in September.
