Cornell Sidewalk

This small stretch of Cornell Road, just east of the intersection with Saltzman, will finally get the asphalt path that will make it safe for pedestrians to walk to and from the town center. Work should be completed by the end of November.

One tree will be removed, and a new mature tree will be planted when the roadwork is done. The shoulder will be widened, the road re-striped, and the existing retaining wall will be removed and replaced at the edge of the right-of-way.

Victoria Saager, Washington County LUT Public Information Officer notes that, "This project is being funded through the Minor Betterment Program, which is an allocation of our gas tax road and bridge maintenance money."

Slowly but surely, Cedar Mill is becoming a safer place to get around!

Mountain Man

Joanne Hollister realized that many potential Cedar Mill area customers don't work in offices that get visited on her Mountain Man route. So she's setting up a "tent store" in the Miller Paint parking lot, on Murray just north of Cornell. Her son Dylan, and his friend Brian McKittrick, both juniors at Sunset High, will man the booth most Saturdays—weather permitting—to sell Mountain Man snacks (including all those great chocolates), fall baskets and mixed nut packs on Saturdays, 10-3 through December 17. They can also take orders for holiday gift shipping.
