THPRD Local Option Levy (Measure 34-337)
This May, voters will have the opportunity to vote on a new local option levy to fund THPRD operations. If approved by voters, the levy would be for $0.50 per $1,000 assessed value for five years. The levy would increase taxes on the average home in the district by $152.12 per year or $12.68 per month. The levy would maintain existing service levels, improve safety and maintenance in parks, natural areas and trails, and fund a new registration system. Items the levy would fund include ensuring weekly garbage collection at parks, ensuring public restrooms stay open and cleaned, preserve up to 300 positions (50 full-time and 250 part-time), fund after school and preschool programs, and maintain facility hours for the public at recreation centers. To learn more visit the levy webpage.
