In 2016, a number of highly destructive and invasive insects were discovered in a few locations in Cedar Mill. The Japanese Beetle has devastated agriculture and home gardens in the East and Midwest, and the Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) wanted to get ahead of the infestation before the same thing happened here.

CMBA helps bring musical bench to Cedar Mill

Katie Smith is the Community Outreach coordinator for the Cedar Mill Business Association, in addition to being Sales Manager of The Ackerly at Timberland. CMBA was looking for a project to replace the hanging flower baskets (since funding had dwindled), when she learned about Tualatin Valley Creates (TVC) and got in touch with Raziah Roushan, Executive Director.
