The Elsie Stuhr Center pickleball court is getting refurbished this summer. The court is being rotated (east to west) to allow additional runout areas. It is being resurfaced with new paint and more. The project is scheduled to be complete by early August.

Greenway Park (SW Greenway & SW Parkview Loop): Staff are planning to install one new ADA picnic table, one new ADA bench, and replace an existing drinking fountain with an ADA fountain by the end of August.

Permanent Restroom Additions: Construction of the three public restrooms at Hazeldale, Schiffler, Greenway parks was completed in July 2024 and the restrooms are now open! The new restrooms raise THPRD’s level of service for the community by providing year-round public access to permanent restrooms and hand washing facilities.

Staff are implementing wildfire reduction activities such as mowing fire breaks in natural areas with steep slopes and placing educational signs in high-use properties.

Ticks that can cause illness are becoming more prevalent in grassy natural areas such as Cooper Mountain Nature Park. Patrons are encouraged to stay on trails and avoid walking into unmowed grassy areas. For more information, visit the Oregon State University’s website

THPRD is partnering with the Beaverton School District and Wake Up Beaverton! to provide free backpacks, full of school supplies, to local families in need. We need help from the local community to assemble and distribute these supplies. This is a great opportunity for volunteers to socialize. Sign up to volunteer on the THPRD Volunteer webpage.

Join us for a delightful outdoor theater event that’s perfect for all ages. We’ll be showcasing William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night”—in short version. A romantic, boisterous and poignant comedy! With a talented cast from OPS Fest, this play promises to be a memorable experience for everyone in attendance. Attendees are encouraged to bring low profile chairs or blankets. Please visit the event webpage for more details.

Please join THPRD and the Beaverton Community Band for an evening of music and celebration. This event will also host art activities and more. The Beaverton Community Band is an all-volunteer group of adult musicians who share a love for concert band music and willingness to share their talents with the public. A variety of food vendors will be on site to sell dinner and snacks or pack a picnic for the whole family. Mark your calendars and join us for an evening of music and fun for all in your local park! Please visit the event webpage for more details or if you wish to volunteer.

This fun, safe race encourages athletes of all ages to compete to the best of their abilities. This triathlon is designed to be inclusive for everyone. This is a non-timed event; all registered participants will receive an event medal. Registration is limited to 300 participants—no charge for participant assistants or aides. Join us for a free concert. Bring your family and friends to enjoy a night of music along with kid’s activities.
