Laurel Parc Celebrates Centenarians

On October 25, Laurel Parc at Bethany Village honored a remarkable milestone by celebrating eight of its residents who are 100 years old or older. This rare and joyous occasion, held in the new Laurel Parc Wine Bar, brought together family, friends, and community members to toast these centenarians in a celebration inspired by the “Blue Zone” lifestyle. Known for promoting health and longevity, Blue Zones highlight the habits and lifestyles of regions where people live longer, healthier lives, often surpassing the age of 100.

The event began with a warm welcome from Francesca Kim, Visionary of Laurel Parc, who shared her appreciation for the unique and inspiring lives of the residents in attendance. “Today, we celebrate health, happiness and new adventures ahead.” Kim said, expressing the admiration felt by all for these residents who have each seen a century or more of life.

In true Laurel Parc fashion, the evening was both elegant and memorable. Residents and guests alike raised glasses filled with sparkling blue champagne to commemorate the centenarians’ lives, symbolizing both their achievements and the continued health and happiness they share with the community. The distinctive blue hue of the champagne was a nod to the Blue Zones, celebrating the lifestyle principles—such as staying active, maintaining social connections, and pursuing life with purpose—that contribute to long and fulfilling lives.

The centenarians themselves offered glimpses into their lives and the secrets to their longevity. Each story brought laughter, joy, and inspiration to those attending, and there was a deep feeling of pride that filled the wine bar. Surrounded by family and friends, these exceptional individuals were celebrated not just for their age, but for the wisdom, kindness, and resilience that have characterized their lives.

The Laurel Parc community embraces the philosophy of the Blue Zones, encouraging healthy living and meaningful connections among residents. As the evening continued, many remarked that the event was not only a celebration of lives well-lived but also a moment of reflection on the value of health, community, and the small joys that make life rich.
