Lunar New Year Craft
Saturday, January 25, 10:30 am-12 pm, CML, all ages
Join us as we welcome in the year of the snake! Participants can create paper lanterns, do paper cutting, and color snake-themed coloring sheets.

Grab and Go Crafts

Pick up craft supplies at either library. Crafts are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. One per child, please.
OBOB Battle Royale (grades 3-5)
Friday, January 3, 1-2 pm and 2:30-3:30 pm, CML, grades 3-5
Saturday, January 4, 1-2 pm and 2:30-3:30 pm, BLA grades 3-5
Compete individually or as a team to test your OBOB (Oregon Battle of the Books) knowledge! For grades 3-5. This event is being held four times, but please attend only one session. Adults and siblings will not be allowed in the room due to space limitations, although an adult must remain in the building for children under 10.

English for Speakers of Other Languages: Intermediate

This class focuses on more advanced grammar and vocabulary for those who are looking to improve their spoken and written English skills. We will explore and discuss the themes in each unit of the provided textbook while applying the lesson’s grammar and vocabulary to our discussion. Provided by Goodwill Industries.

Medicare and Individual Market Place Open Enrollment time is upon us. Do you have any questions about your insurance? Do you know if you qualify for state assistance? Health insurance offers many benefits, but it can be complicated and confusing sifting through all of the options available. Come to the library and talk to insurance advocates from Health Plans in Oregon who can help you choose the plan that is right for you.
Avid Adventurers Alliance: Dungeons & Dragons for Adults

Technology Open Lab

Join us for Technology Open Lab. It is perfect for getting started with basic computer skills and practicing with devices like laptops, tablets and cellphones. Volunteers will be available to answer questions. Bring your own device with you or use one of our laptops to practice. No registration is required, but there is limited space each session.

Curious about online petitions? Interested in starting one of your own? Join us to learn about the world’s most popular online petition platform: change.org. Add your voice to the hundreds of thousands of petitions circulating every day to support causes that are important to you. In this workshop, we’ll browse petitions, sign up for a change.org account, and learn how to start a petition of your own.
The Science of Meditation

Immigration Visas: What you need to know

Getting immigrant visas for yourself or your family can be a complicated process. Join Danielle Perez as she breaks down different types of immigrant visas and the processes to obtain them. There will be time for Q&A at the end. Registration is required. There are 45 spots available.
Anti-Virus & Malware Removal Programs at a Glance Lecture

Did you know that viruses are only one type of malware that can harm your computer? In this lecture, we’ll go over different types of malware and how they work. We’ll also introduce some anti-virus programs and malware remover software and go over how these tools can be used to prevent and get rid of malware infections. Attend this lecture to learn how to keep your device safe!

Writers’ Mill

Award-winning essayist and local author, Erika Giles, will be the speaker at the first Writers’ Mill meeting of 2025. Her memoir, Becoming Hungarian, came out in 2024. It’s described as “a fascinating story of resilience and discovery that will inspire anyone who has struggled with their identity and tried to come to terms with the past,” and Erika is sure to have much to tell any aspiring writers among us.
