Reclaim/Reclama: Joyful Resistance
Wednesday, April 9, 5:30-8 pm, Jackson Bottom Wetlands Nature Center, 2600 Southwest Hillsboro Highway. Get your free tickets here

The Sexual Assault Resource Center of Oregon (SARC) invites you to join us for the second annual Reclaim/Reclama LIVE, that showcases powerful performances and presentations across diverse art forms by individuals impacted by sexual violence. From spoken word and music to short film, dance, comedy, and beyond, the event amplifies survivor voices through creative expression. A Survivor Speaker panel will also be featured, offering a space for shared experiences and resilience.
This year’s theme is Joyful Resistance. As people impacted by sexual violence, we embrace the power of joy as an act of resistance. We resist apathy, defeat, and the theft of our bodily autonomy and futures. Together, we joyfully reclaim community, resilience, solidarity, and healing. We choose connection and hope and defy shame, silence, and isolation. By resisting toxic societal norms, we support a collective future where everyone is free to pursue the joy that gives their life meaning. Reclaim/Reclama is dedicated to empowering survivors, amplifying marginalized voices, and fostering healing through art and advocacy.
Guests are encouraged to arrive at 5:30 pm to enjoy the Art Walk highlighting the 2025 Reclaim/Reclama magazine artists and the Voices of Hope Art Gallery, sponsored by the Family Justice Center of Washington County. We look forward to bringing together members of our community to uplift the voices of survivors through art.
Voices of a Generation opening reception
Friday, April 4, 5-9 pm, Grey Raven Gallery, 12695 SW Crescent St., Unit 150, free. Show runs April 1-26

This April, Grey Raven Gallery is proud to feature the works of over 20 local young and emerging artists from the Pacific Northwest. At the opening reception, enjoy our curated show alongside live music by young musicians and light fare. All are welcome to attend, from artists to art enthusiasts. We would love to see some familiar faces from Cedar Mill stop by.
All work is for sale, and profits will be split 50/50 between the artist and Grey Raven Gallery. The gallery’s share goes towards Golden Road Arts, an Oregon nonprofit organization that provides free art education to children, parents, and educators. Grey Raven Gallery exists to both support local artists and fund Golden Road Arts. When you purchase a piece of art from our gallery, you’re directly supporting the next generation of artists. Art is transformative—the young artists of today are the ones who will set the stage for tomorrow’s cultural and aesthetic landscape.

3D Featured Artist: Eileen Millsap, glass artist:
“Art in many forms has surrounded me my entire life. In 2024 I moved to the coast with my husband and 2 dogs. I have discovered new inspiration from the dark roiling tides of the winter to the sunny deep blue water of summer. I work with large glass sheets of many colors and textures. My work is largely functional consisting of bowls, plates, and other useful shapes. With the smaller pieces of glass, I design and make jewelry.”
