Please bring your donations of gift cards to support Beaverton School District families in need. We are collecting gift cards in any amount. Please bring your donation for drop off to any facility. Learn more here.
Save the date for THPRD Winter registration!
Winter Registration is almost here! Registration for Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation in-district patrons begins on Saturday, December 7 at 8 am. Out-of-district patrons can begin registering on Monday, December 9 at 8 am. To register, visit the THPRD website.
Keep an eye out for new programing options in the upcoming Winter/Spring Activity guide. Classes for adults will include line dancing, henna drawing, Japanese Floral Arrangement Workshops, and many more!
Jenkins Estate is now accepting rentals!

Winter Break Camp at Beaverton Swim Center
December 23, 27, 30, and January 2, 3, 9 am-4 pm, registration required
Join us for a winter break camp starting in December. Fun filled days include activities, games, water play, and a swim lesson. For more information needed to register and to see other winter camp locations, visit the THPRD Winter Break Camp webpage.
Replacement of Willow Creek Greenway Boardwalk
THPRD has contracted tree removal and boardwalk demolition this fall/winter 2024 to comply with the Migratory Bird Act. The work will be noisy and will take approximately 4-5 weeks. Construction of the new boardwalk is expected to begin in June 2025 and to be completed in October 2025. The boardwalk connection to Waterhouse Trail will be closed for the duration of work.

THPRD is offering mail boxes at select THPRD facilities to drop-off letters to Santa Claus! Children will hear back from our jolly friend in red! Near Cedar Mill, boxes can be found at the Cedar Hills Recreation Center, Sunset Swim Center, Tualatin Hills Athletic Center, and the Tualatin Hills Nature Center. Adaptive Mobile Recreation at Garden Home Recreation Center
Mondays, 1-2 pm, Garden Home Recreation Center, 7475 SW Oleson Rd., Portland, free
This is a free drop-in program for ages 10-18 who are experiencing disabilities. The inclusive community-based recreation program provides fun sensory activities for all ability levels.

Winter HS Basketball
Registration closes on November 22nd for the Winter High School basketball league. You can find more detailed information by accessing this Winter 2025 High School Basketball Information document.
Website Update Coming
Information Services kicked off the project to replace the district’s internal and external websites. With a lot of work happening behind the scenes, the public can expect a new, easier to use website within the next year.
Tree Planting Update
Staff will begin planting new trees in several parks this fall. Park sites include Kaiser Woods Park, Commonwealth Park, Center Street Park, Pirate Park, and Mitchell Park.
Energy Enhancements
Staff have been upgrading lights at the Elsie Stuhr Center and the Aloha Swim Center to be more energy efficient. This supports THPRD’s efforts to lower our footprint and save money, meeting goals from the district’s Climate Action and Comprehensive Plans.
Volunteer to help restore natural areas
Mitchell Park
Saturday, November 16, 9-11:30 am, trailhead at SW 93rd & Stark
Help us plant native trees and shrubs throughout the natural areas of Mitchell Park! Please bring a reusable water bottle to drink from throughout the day. Tools and gloves will be provided. Register here.

Orenco Winter Village skating rink coming soon

Find holiday cheer at this outdoor ice-skating rink. Winter Village is a beloved Hillsboro holiday event that is back for the first time since the pandemic. Bring your friends and family to a skate session or rent the rink for your private event. Check out special theme Fridays. Private rentals are available on Tuesdays. Winter Village will be closed on Wednesday, December 25 and Wednesday, January 1. Visit the event page for information about parking, themes, prices and for planning your visit.
