The Cedar Mill Community Club has set the date for the Third Annual neighborhood tree lighting ceremony. The lights will be turned on at 5:45 pm, in the Milltowner Shopping Center next to Insomnia Coffee. Join us in celebrating the magic of the holiday season! Enjoy holiday music, hot drinks and cookies.

Laurel Parc Celebrates Centenarians

On October 25, Laurel Parc at Bethany Village honored a remarkable milestone by celebrating eight of its residents who are 100 years old or older.

BethanyLink increases local transit options

Ride Connection, a nonprofit dedicated to providing transportation options for the Portland metro area, has introduced a new community connector shuttle, BethanyLink. This free, weekday service aims to improve accessibility and mobility for residents, commuters, and students in Bethany, North Bethany and parts of Cedar Mill.

Finding kids’ activities

The process of seeking out local kids’ activities can be daunting, exhausting, even overwhelming. This is especially true for parents who are new to the area, as many in Cedar Mill are. Years in, I feel like I’m still learning of new opportunities all the time. I’ve put together a list of kids’ activities that, from what I’ve learned, are not broadly known, not easy to find, or both.

Beating the Winter Blues

Dark, dreary winters often bring feelings of sadness and sluggishness, commonly called the “winter blues.” Decreased sunlight can disrupt neurotransmitters that are crucial for maintaining wellness. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we’re more likely to suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder which causes changes in mood, activities, and overall well-being.

Deflection Program gets people into treatment

The Washington County Deflection Program provides an opportunity for people cited or arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance as an unclassified misdemeanor (PCS-U) to avoid prosecution through successful engagement in treatment.

Jean Hoffelner, 81, of Bonny Slope, passed away on August 8, 2024. Jean is preceded in death by her husband Jerry and is survived by her son Jeff, daughter-in-law Anna, her grandchildren Pavel and Hanna, her daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Don, and her grandchildren Abby and Noelle.
