Annual Kids’ Library Fundraiser
Your generous gift gives the children in our community the joy of discovery! Cedar Mill and Bethany Community Libraries are asking for the community’s help in purchasing Discovery activity tables for the children’s areas at both libraries. Learn more and make your donation at the CML website.
2023 Winter Reading Challenge
December 1-January 15
Curl up with a cup of cocoa and a good book this winter. Everyone is invited to participate in CMBCL’s Winter Reading Challenge! Our community goal is to read 10,000 minutes. Count your reading and activities on a paper log available at either the library or log your reading with the Beanstack app. Participants will have the chance to win a gift certificate generously donated by Piccolo Mondo Toys. Learn more and register at the library website.
Teen artist’s talent benefits CMBCL
At the age of sixteen, Sunset High School student Sophia You is already an accomplished artist who is using her talents to benefit local libraries. In addition to sorting and shelving materials each week as a volunteer at Cedar Mill Library, You creates illustrations for use in promoting library programs. The teen started out designing coloring sheets that the libraries delivered along with books to local childcare sites as part of their Bookshare Program.
The libraries’ Teen Services Manager, Mark Richardson says, “Sophia has been volunteering at the library since 2021. She has created artwork for our NaMoWriMo program and our Spring Crosshatch reading challenge and has even designed buttons for us. We’re thankful for all her contributions!”
You’s latest artwork supports the libraries’ Winter Reading Challenge with designs featuring the challenge’s 2023 theme, “Bundle Up with a Book”.
Holiday Book Sale
