Zo-Ann Marie Newcomer 10/25/1958-7/12/2024
“If you were fortunate enough to know her, you knew her story.”
Zo-Ann began hairstyling as a teenager at Mr. James, her father’s salon in Cedar Mill. Robert “Mr. James” Newcomer opened the salon at the original Milltowner in 1965 when the center opened.
His daughter Zo-Ann grew up in the business and began doing hairstyling at 19. Her two kids also grew up around the salon! When Mr. James finally retired in 2011 (after 52 years!), she worked at a nearby salon and then moved to a couple of different salons in Beaverton. She had a loyal following for her hairstyling skill and her friendly personality. She was able to spend a lot of time with her dad and help care for him in his final years, until he died in 2022. She enjoyed traveling with friends and going on cruises.
