Thompson reopens with lane closures
After being closed to through traffic from July 1-August 25, Thompson between Saltzman and the western curve has reopened. From August 26, expect daytime lane closures 8:30-2:30 pm weekdays. Work times have been adjusted to avoid impacts to school drop-off and pick-up.
Closure 2 (when work will begin on the Saltzman end): Dates to be determined (30 days).
Don’t put temporary signs in the right-of-way
If you plan to show your support for a political campaign with a sign this election season, make sure you place it on private property. Unauthorized temporary signs are not allowed in the public right-of-way.
State ORS 368.942 and Washington County RO98-197 allow us to remove unauthorized signs in unincorporated Washington County right-of-way without notice. This includes:
- Political signs
- Real Estate signs
- Garage sale signs
- Signs attached to structures like signposts or utility poles and cabinets
Unauthorized roadside signs can block sight-distance, traffic devices and/or access to sidewalks.
We remove signs as resources allow. The sign content is not a factor in whether we remove it or not. If we remove one of your signs, you may be able to claim it for up to 30 days. Learn more.
