Cedar Mill Cider Festival coming October 6
Sunday, October 6, noon-4 pm, JQA Young House Park, 12050 NW Cornell, free to attend
Bring the family and enjoy free fresh cider, live music, a Cedar Mill history display, bbq lunch, vendors and information booths, and kids’ activities at our very own annual celebration of fall and fun.
Flying Barracuda food truck offers bbq sandwiches for lunch, including garlic chicken and pulled pork. Bauman’s Cider Co. will have hard cider for sale.
Local scouts will operate the cider presses to provide fresh cider for everyone, pressed from apples donated by Market of Choice.
Vendors offer up crafts and food items for sale, and local groups including Cedar Mill Business Association will share information about their activities. Be sure to check out the Genealogical Society’s booth to learn how you can explore your roots.
The big History Tent, in front of the JQA Young House, is the place to learn more about our local history, from the Atfálati tribe through the early days of pioneer life. The house was built in the 1860s by the second owner of the lumber mill that gave our community its name. Volunteers are needed to help out with the History Tent, so get in touch if you’re interested in local history.
The event is sponsored by Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD). They will bring the RecMobile to provide kids’ activities. They also provide all the infrastructure that turns the park into a festival one day a year!
