The VGA mission is to: ignite the joy of learning, creating and appreciating art in our community. We support professional and emerging artists by providing high quality affordable art education to children and adults as well as providing venues for sharing their work. Village Gallery of Arts is a non-profit (501c3) organization, receives no taxpayer money, and is staffed entirely by member volunteers.

During the recent extreme weather in our area, a portion of the ceiling in The Reser’s lobby, and art galleries on both floors, sustained water damage due to an internal sprinkler pipe break in the ceiling on the second floor. The good news is that the damage to the building is cosmetic, not structural, and no one was hurt. The Mainstage Theater, the stage, seating areas, The Lab, Pavilion, and administrative offices were not affected.

Sadly, some artwork was damaged in the lobby spaces on both floors and the Art Gallery will be temporarily closed while the damage is assessed, and repairs are completed. To honor our current exhibiting artists, we have rescheduled the exhibition, Dialogues: An Emerging Artist Showcase, to reopen in early September.

We are grateful to Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue who were the first responders, the City of Beaverton’s facilities team, and our staff members for their quick response to this incident. They were all heroes to prevent further damage. And, we are grateful to you, our community, for all the well wishes and messages of support. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Songs of Scandinavia is a collaboration with the Portland Nordic Chorus. Join us for a haunting and evocative concert that celebrates Scandinavian languages and musical traditions featuring works by Ola Gjeilo, Kim André Arnesen, Knut Nystedt, Gjermund Larsen, and more.
