Family Pride in the Park

Celebrate Pride with fun, free, family-friendly social events at Cedar Hills Recreation Center! Bring your family and friends to celebrate diversity and inclusivity. Free activities and entertainment for all ages may include: bounce slide, foam cannon, outdoor yard games, face painting, crafts, photo wall, light refreshments, bubbles, and more. Additionally, you can start your celebration off strong with a free 90-minute workout with THPRD Fitness in the Cedar Hills gymnasium. Annual Summer Kick-Off Concert Returns
THPRD’s annual summer kick-off concert event returns in late June at Mt. View Champions Park. Family-friendly activities are planned! Please visit the website for more details and to mark your calendars for all other summer events.

Ridgewood Park Dog Run
THPRD is excited to announce the opening of the dog run at Ridgewood View Park! Bring your furry friends out for a game of fetch and let them roam freely in our newly fenced dog run. Ridgewood Park is near the corner of 217 and Wilshire, at 10001 SW Ardenwood St.
La Raíz Park Opens
THPRD is excited to announce the opening of La Raiz Park. Construction is finished and the park was opened to the public on May 6. Street parking is available along Lombard Avenue and there’s a nearby TriMet bus stop. Shelter rentals will be made available starting in July with a grand opening scheduled for the evening of July 18!
Teen Volunteers Wanted
THPRD is looking for RISE Youth Leaders, who assist in a leadership capacity with district events, classes, and summer camps. Youth interested must be 13 or older and able to attend a virtual training session, which is 1.5 hours in length. We also need Junior Lifeguards, who volunteer to assist lifeguards during open swim and swimming classes. Youth interested must be 12 or older and be able to complete a junior lifeguard course (20-25 hours of training). Visit the Youth Opportunities page for more information.
Park Maintenance
Outdoor tennis courts, pickleball courts, and basketball hoops are being serviced across the district. Services include court cleaning, replacing worn out nets, and blowing debris from the courts weekly during the high use season.

Discover the joy of walking with “Walk with Me” events happening this summer! These guided walks through parks are led by one of THPRD’s fitness instructors. It’s a chance to connect with nature and enjoy a walk on THPRD trails, parks, and surrounding areas all while staying active. Come join us with your friends and family! All levels are welcome. Summer Kick-off Concert & Event

Not only do we have great live music featuring Dancehall Days—an all genres cover and dance band—but there will also be plenty of activities for the kids! THPRD Rec Mobile offers kids’ activities. THPRD Nature Mobile will host interactive educational displays and other activities. The Beaverton Safe Routes to School will host a Bike Rodeo, featuring a bike skills course, free helmets and fittings, free bike tune-ups, prizes and refreshments! Eid al-Adha Celebration

One of two major holidays celebrated in Islam, Eid al-Adha is a joyous and celebratory holiday that includes gathering with family for feasts of thanksgiving. All are welcome to join in family friendly activities including inflatables, laser tag, bazaar, food vendors, music and more. This is a celebration not to be missed! Co-sponsored by THPRD, Cool Islam, Islamic Community Center of Hillsboro, Islamic Society of Greater Portland, Bilal Masjid, and Afghan Support Network. Band in the Park & West Side Trail Event

Please join THPRD and the Beaverton Community Band for an evening of music and celebration. This free event will also host art activities, and an opportunity to hear about the West Side Trail Project from park district staff. The Beaverton Community Band is an all-volunteer group of adult musicians who share a love for concert band music and willingness to share their talents with the public. Join us for a Pride Party

Pride Party is an annual event with a free, family-friendly community celebration that kicks off Pride Month and features a variety of vendors, live music & entertainment, food, community resources, and activities for all ages. More than 40 craft vendors and community partners will offer a variety of free educational resources and activities, along with creative items to purchase. Outdoor Theater Returns

Join the city in presenting Tartuffe, a comedy by Molière, adapted and directed by Nik Whitcomb. This production is presented free of charge to the community in partnership with the City of Hillsboro Parks & Recreation Department & Hillsboro’s Cultural Arts. Hillsboro Tuesday Night Market is a weekly outdoor summer festival in Historic Downtown Hillsboro, presented to the community by volunteers, friends, and local partners. A private nonprofit organization, Hillsboro Tuesday Marketplace, Inc provides a free community gathering place featuring music, food, shopping and other events. 18th Annual Latino Cultural Festival Announced

The festivities will kick off with a colorful parade featuring Hillsboro elementary students, talented dancers, and musicians.
