Business update April 2024

pop pizza offerings
pop pizza offerings including salads and pizzas
Pop’s Package Deals feed a family!

After a long wait while the finishing touches were completed and everything was inspected, Cedar Mill has another great food option in the Milltowner Center at Saltzman & Cornell! Marius Pop opened the original store on the east side. That one is temporarily closed, but we get our first taste of “Detroit-style” pizza, and we like it! It’s definitely something different—a layer of juicy sauce and crispy fresh toppings on a pillowy, almost breadlike square crust, where the cheese oozes down the sides to form a crunchy bite. Gluten free options available.

Salads come ready for you to toss at home—Caesar and Arugula. The package deals include cookie squares along with pizza and salad. And they also have soft-serve ice cream with fancy toppings.

Current hours are 4-9 pm but they expect to open for lunch soon. Limited seating in the shop. The pass-through window to Wildwood is open now, so you can have pie with your brews! Call 971-441-7099 to order ahead, or visit the website which now seems to be functional, after being down for a while.

si senor kitchen
All-new appliances and fixtures gleam in Si Señor’s kitchen

Erika Villaseñor told us that nearly all of the work on the roof and kitchen is done following the disastrous vent-hood fire last year. It’s been a long road for the popular family-owned restaurant.

“The kitchen is almost ready to go and we’re just waiting for the Washington County Health inspector today,” she told us in late March. “There’s still a little work to complete on the roof. I’m reluctant to name a date because we’ve had to change it so many times, but we’re hopeful.” You can follow them on Facebook and Instagram—they’ll announce the opening date there first.

Contractors found ceiling and roof damage in other areas of the restaurant so that also has taken extra time. (Oregon weather doesn’t love a flat roof!) The building was built around 1970 by the Choban family for their Greek restaurant Marika’s. The family still owns the building. Si Señor moved into it from their previous location in the “triangle” center in 2016.

We can’t wait for their wonderful food, vibrant colorful furniture and décor, and relaxed and friendly family atmosphere. They were a takeout staple during the COVID era too! Let the inspection gods smile on them!

The taproom at the Cedar Mill location is planned to include a 5,000-square-foot family-friendly taproom with a menu that reflects the other locations. This includes wood-fired pizzas, salads, apps, 28 taps, wine, cider, and cocktails. The location will include a pet-friendly covered patio. More information about the company can be found at the official Stickmen Brewing Company website. (Some Information taken from Beaverton Valley Times article).

Opening summer 2024 in the Kirkland Place development, this will be an “advanced wellness center with many offerings—focused on optimal wellness, longevity and performance,” according to owner Casey Holliman. It will move into the space above AFC Urgent Care on the second floor, next to Wolfe Dental. We’ll bring you more info next month. The building at 11786 NW Cedar Falls is next to Barnes Road, west of the uncompleted hotel.
