Join us at the La Raíz Park Opening Celebration
Thursday, July 18, 6-8 pm, 6595 SW Lombard Ave.
Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation (THPRD) is excited to announce the opening of La Raíz Park. The Grand Opening is a free community event with entertainment, family-friendly activities, and much more! Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner. Free treats will be handed out to the public.
The park features a multipurpose court, two covered picnic areas, paved and soft-surface paths, open lawn areas surrounded by trees and natural plantings, multiple play areas including a water play feature, and more.
The park’s name, La Raíz, is Spanish for “the root” and honors numerous members of Spanish-speaking communities in the district. The name represents the site’s large trees that live in interdependent relationships through connected roots. Like spreading tree roots, the unique paths and experiences that have led people to this land continue to shape the community we live in today as we grow toward the future.
The park was opened to the public on May 6. Street parking is available along Lombard Avenue and there is a TriMet bus stop. Shelter rentals will be made available starting in July with the grand opening. Please visit the event webpage for details about the park, to register to volunteer for the event, or to plan your visit.
